COME ONE, COME ALL...TO ALAMO VILLAGE!!!
Although Alamo Village is officially closed, the owner has agreed to allow a visitation day on Sunday, October 10, 2010 so that Alamo Gala participants and others can walk around and photograph these iconic sets from John Wayne's "THE ALAMO." A time to be "just rememberin."
Richard Curilla, historian and "corrupt town marshall," will provide a group tour and hang around all day for Q. & A. Possible future owner David Jones will also be on hand. Please bring a sack lunch and bottled water as nothing is available on set - and don't forget to bring your camera!
The gate will open at 10:00 A.M. and the Village will close at 4:30 P.M. Bus transportation will be available in San Antonio next to the Alamo. The buses will leave at 8:00 A.M. and return for San Antonio at 3:00 P.M. Tickets will cost $30.00 and will cover the cost of the bus ride and Village admission. (Tickets can be purchased when you get on the bus.) Refreshments and snacks will also be served. Feel free to bring a cooler for your beverages. Admission at Alamo Village will be $10.00 if you choose not to take the bus. In any case, waivers of liability must be signed before you are allowed into the Village.
If you plan to take the bus, please contact Joan Headley at 210-415-1836 (ciasa@earthlink.net) so we can get an accurate count. General information is available from John Farkis at 810-225-3277 (jkfarkis@earthlink.net). In the event that we are unable to fill all seats on the bus by October 1, the bus will be cancelled. In that event, we will then notify all individuals in sufficient time to allow you to make alternate transportation plans.)
Rain or shine we look forward to seeing you at Alamo Village so take care and plan to have a great time!
