Used to own a small collection of this show. Was very disappointed when I watched the "Gone to Texas" one (I think that was the title) because the Alamo or Texas revolution was not mentioned one iota.

From when I went years ago, Casa Rio had incredible Mexican food, enormous portions, and a very affordable prize. We ate there two of the four nights we were there. Went to Schilo's Deli fore breakfast per Rick's suggestions, and had lunch twice at the Alamo Cafe, which was awesome. They make their own tortillas and serve them warm with pads of butter if I remember correctly. I would fly all the way to San Antone to taste that again.

Maybe the Director's Cut of G & G (which I eagerly await) will change my opinion of the film. I went from "Love it" to "Hate it" in about two viewings... Greg, I read your interview with Brian Mallon. Very interesting and well done. Thanks also for the heads-up on the upcoming release of Maxwell's DC version of Gods and Generals.Glad you liked it. My opinion of this film has changed so much over the years. It went from love, to hate, and now it's back to love again. Guess I'm old enough to truly be able to appreciate such an epic.

This remains the first year that I can remember where I did not watch the George C. Scott version (or any other version for that matter). I was just too damn busy in December.

The airport is what? About an hour from you nef? A half hour in good traffic and weather. Wish I was picking up my brother and his wife this year. Everyone have a special Thanksgiving. Happy thanksgiving everyone! And Ned I think you just broke the record for long time between a question and a response. 3 years!
