You sure found yourself a beautiful place to live, Nef! And close to the Alamo too. Was that the reason for you moving to Texas? To be close to the Alamo and the Texian Alamo buffs? It seems like a great place to live - Alamo buff or not... Well, that's part of the reason, Seguin. But, as I'm a retired fellow now and on a fixed income, Texas is also a more affordable place to live than California is. I see. Well, you´re lucky to already getting a retirement in your mid-fifties. Over here you can´t retire before you´re 60 (unless you´re rich, of course) and the normal retirement age is 65, then you´re entitled to your senior citizens pension. It must be nice for you to have lots of time for your hobbies...

I had to smile when I first saw the names of all the streets I passed, while on the way to the New Braunfels library. The downtown business section is on Main Plaza, while the major cross streets there are Seguin and San Antonio. Then there's Verimendi Ave., Houston Ave, Grant Ave., the list goes on...

Right! ;D ...and the town of Seguin (with Seguin´s grave and statue) should be fairly close to you. Have you ever been there?

Rudys! The best barbecue joint in New Braunfels. Or, as they like to say here in 'Sausage Town', the 'Wurst' BarBQ in Texas.

Oma's Haus, just one of the fine German restaurants here in New Braunfels. (NOTE: Oma's Haus means Grandma's House.)

For those of you who do not know what schnitzel is, it's sorta like chicken fried steak. (Of course, in Greg's case, it would be chicken fried chicken.)

I believe a schnitzel can be made out of pork meat too. The ones I´ve had was made from pork (Wienerschnitzel) but I guess all kinds of meat will do as long as it´s prepared as a schnitzel...

Tubing on the Comal River in New Braunfels. The shortest river in Texas, the Comal originates from a natural spring in Landa Park and then empties into the Guadalupe River, 2 1/2 miles away.

Eleven miles west of New Braunfels is the Natural Bridge Wildlife Park, when you can go on a safari from the comforts of your own car. Feed is provided to give as treats to the many species of animals you will meet. Sometimes the animals will even stick their heads in the window of your vehicle for the treat. It was a hoot.
