Patrick Wayne, as Jim Bonham, early on in the filming. Notice how some of the actors' hair got suddenly longer, as filming progressed? In the opening shot, Travis (Harvey) almost has a crewcut, while Pat Wayne looks ivy league. Later, they try to assume the longer, more unkempt look.

Even allowing for Charo's exaggeration, Santanna must've crossed the Baja in strength!

The Alamo is everywhere! Back from their recent vacation trip in Malta, Mo's daughter Charlotte graciously mailed me a collage print of John Wayne from different films he's appeared in and there is the Duke, as Crockett, in his coonskin cap!

By the way, has anyone talked to Mo recently? His knee surgery went OK. He called it keyhole surgery, which might mean he had it scoped, I'm not sure.

I just got an email from Mo this morning. (He'd just come back from a doctor visit.) He mentioned how much he really enjoys the AT THE ALAMO dvd and recommends it to everyone.

The Waynamo church facade, in 1986. It was a lot cleaner looking then than now, ay Greg?

It looks like the ground is about two feet higher than it was in 1959. You cant see the bottom of the pillar stand (i can't remember the correct name) in the 2005 photo but you can see several inches sticking up out of the dirt in the 1986 photo. In this 1959-60 photo there seems to be five or six inches of the pedestal sticking out of the ground.

The same thing has happened at the real Alamo in San Antonio, over the years.

Nef Crockett gets pinned to the doors of the Waynamo chapel. (He should've checked that the door was padlocked.)
