End it after the battle of the Alamo. I have always thought that movies and books that gon on after the Alamo has fallen tends to take away from the story and go into a whole new story. Just my opinion.

Good point, gtj222! - It should be possible to mention what happend at San Jacinto without going through the whole battle there. Just mention it in a few paragraphs, no more. Or maybe it could be mentioned in an afterword? Maybe Nef has a better solution. He has experience in writing an Alamo novel...

I have decided to end the actual story with the aftermath of the battle and what happens to the survivors and another incicent involving Santa Anna sending three officers to the Alamo to blow it up before they are stopped by some ghostly figures (which is said to have actually happened). The epilogue which is only about two pages will go into San jacinto, fort defiance, goliad, etc.

Just my opinion. Stole my thunder, GTJ! Yeah, an afterward would cover San Jac, without taking away from the Alamo story. The only reason you would need to include San Jac is if one of your main characters fights there. (An Alamo aftermath is a must, though. I believe THE ALAMO (2004) suffered from not letting the viewer know what happened to the noncombatants.)

The Book was finished today!!!!!!!!!
Once I submit it next week, it should get published with the next year and I'll be able to start working on another book, this time a fictional thriller I hope.

Its now time to submit my story so I emailed the lady who I was in contact with last time and it so happens that she's not there anymore. Now I'll try to contact someone so I won't have to go through the entire re-submission form.

Great to hear you´re finished with the story. Congrats! Re-submission? I hope not. That would be a real drag...

Damn! If the lady you spoke to accepted the your story then I don´t get that they want you to re-submit it. Hell, they already accepted it! Maybe you could tell them that - in a polite way, of course. Anyway, I hope they´ll accept it again, The odds should be in your favor...

I guess it's taking a while, huh? To you, it may seem like ages, but to the publisher it justs one more manuscript of many. Don't get anxious about it, or you will just end up frustrating yourself needlessly. Rule #1: Publishing houses are not your friend.

I'm starting to get pissed off. Its about time I give them a call. I dont have a copyright on it so they can just take it and publish it under someone elses name...

It can easily take a year or more from when you submit the manuscript till it´s printed. It´s a slow business...

Does one have to apply for a copyright at some public office? Or can you just write "Copyright Mr. XX"?
