i just finished reading the contract and am about to sign it. i also have to put some last finishing touches and rediting in it. the manuscrpit has to be in by Aug. 1

ALAMOGUY why don`t you take a few photos of your contract,then have some one photograph you with it as well as you when you sign it!
Is there something I am missing or why don`t the "smilies"work?

I mean get it copywrited before you get it published, even the rough draft. I had a friend who wrote a song and didn't get it copywrited before sending it to be put to sheet music and published and it got stolen..so get-er-done!! ;D Mike |

The Greatest wont be for another three years! the latest is that i recieved an email from them telling me that they had forgotten that i was 13 (now 14) and that they cant offer me a contract till im 16. i had all that pressure to add another 20+ pages in a month and now i have to wait 3 years!

Well, don't fret too much. It will give you plenty of time to polish up the manuscript. I finished the 1st draft of ODM in 1981 and finally got it published in 2004. Two years wait will just be like rolling off a log for you! |

i have just polished up more of the story and i have also increased the preface changing it to an "Everything You Need to Know before Starting An Alamo Story." type intro. Also the epilogue contains information on battle fought in texas after san jacinto but before its annexation to the U.S.

As of right now the only illustrations will be a famous portrait of crockett swing his rifle on the cover but nothing throughout the book. since you brought up wade, i might ask him when it gets closer to publishing time since i cant draw for my life. |

Keep us posted, then. Maybe you can offer a pre-publication deal on the book exclusively for Alamosports members. (Or perhaps offer a signed copy of the book as a prize in future contests. Takes thinkin' on...)

So how does that all work? Can't you get some sort of 'parental support' form to back you up? I mean. how do child-stars get contracts, anyhow?
