Jezuz! She certainly has a way with adjectives. She uses way too much pathos for my taste. If those three pages are all there is about the Alamo, then it does´nt even qualify as a book about the Alamo. I´m glad I saved my money for something else...

This book will just not go away. As I type, there are 15 copies of INEZ on eBay. What's worse is that some of them are a brand new trade paperback version, all fresh and pretty to poison the minds of its pending readers. I don´t intend to buy it, but maybe you could get a good laugh out of reading it. On the other hand, it´s probably just another anti-catholic book...

I don´t think I´ve seen Dark Command, but I have heard about Quantrill and his irregular troops raiding after the Civil War. Some kinda guerilla warfare and plunderings, I believe.

Btw, Denmark won a gold medal in sailing. Their boat was not in working for some reason, so Croatia lend Denmark THEIR boat! Now the Danish team wants Croatia to be recognized by the Olympic organization for their outstanding sportsmanship in lending the Danish team their boat. . Now, THAT'S the Olympic spirit! Exactly!

Oh well, at least it's better coming here where multiple daily posts are more, or less guaranteed. Over on the Sentry, we're lucky to get 3 posts a day, if that. Yes, the post count certainly varies!

It´s so corrupted with pro´s against amateurs that it does´nt make any sense. Incredible that the Olympics can get away with it. What kinda rules makes that possible? How come nobody inside the Olympics raises the issue? Is it really THAT corrupt? The answer is blowing in the wind...

It seems like everybody poses for pics in front of the Alamo, even the Woodsmen (who?). I would´nt be surprised if the Junior Woodchucks with Huey, Dewey and Louie showed up on an Alamo pic next... ;D Or some politicians: "Look how patriotic I am! I´m standing in front of the Alamo for a photo shoot"...

I've discovered around six "new" postules on my hands and inbetween my toes. Why did they take so long to develop, Iwonder? Isn't this a great topic? Still, it's not eveyone who gets to experience a fire ant attack. Why, oh why did I not just leave the ant mound alone and then pour poison on it? In between your toes? Ouch! Maybe you should change your handle to Postuletus? ;D I´m sure the ants appreciated you did´nt use poison - at least the ones that got away - and the ones that bit you...

Frank Zappa - Live Transmissions (30th anniversary limited edition). - DVD.
Featuring live classic Saturday Night Live performances from 1976 and 1978.
John Belushi performs together with Zappa and his band on two of the songs, dressed up as a Japanese samurai with sword and all. Absolutely hilarious! ;D

Unfortunately, I can´t vote because I don´t remember having seen the two Zulu movies (Well, I probably have a long time ago on TV). Great pics! Michael Caine is one of my favourite actors! ZULU (1965) was Caine's first big film. It's sort of a Welsh Alamo where 120 defenders successfully held off 4000 Zulu warriors in an adobe mission station. The Alamo angle sounds interesting! I´m sure I must´ve have seen it on TV long ago. I hope it pops up on my TV screen again one day...

Wow! Thank God, we don´t have fire ants over here. So, you´re supposed to leave the postules alone and wait for them to heal? What´s the advantage of lance them instead? And why are you not supposed to lance them? The pustules look like the end of a pearl-tipped pin. They are hard, bumpy, disgusting and itch like sin. Though lancing them increases the chance of infection and scarring, I'd rather have them open sores that can be dried up with alcohol and peroxide. These two remedies also alleviate the itching somewhat. (Oh, I just counted the ant bites; there are 33.) Jezuz! No wonder you preferred to lance them. You must´ve been a sight for sore eyes with all those "pearls" on your legs... ;D

I know the 419eater site. I love how they bait those swindlers. So this threat business is just a new type of Nigerian scams. Thank God it was´nt for real. One time I went through 419eater´s pic file, I found a Nigerian holding a big sign saying, "Remember The Alamo"! ;D It was of course part of somebody´s trying to counter-bait them. There´s lots of funny pics there. It´s also funny to read some of the mail correspondence between the Nigerian swindlers and the baiters. I´ve received a Nigerian mail myself once. It was supposedly from Yahoo Australia, complete with a false Yahoo logo and letter head, informing me that I had won a lottery! ;D Of course, I did´nt react. So, now you can go outdoors after 7.15 PM again without getting killed...

There's this irritating credit card ad: I WANT IT... I WANT IT ALL... AND I WANT IT NOW... I guess they are banking on the concept that all people have now joined the ME FIRST generation. Unfortunately, they´re not completely wrong. I´ve seen various American TV shows about people in incredible debt because they went bananas when they got a credit card. Catering to people´s greed is profitable!
