Sadly, Battle For Texas: The Experience museum will be closing it's doors by August of this year. Texas Bob Reihardt cites that location and a waning interest in history have caused its decline. Try and get there and see it before it is gone!

Can't believe we are slipping into November already! Before you go into a panic on what to get your Texas History lover for Christmas, might I suggest the novel, "Victory Or Death: Alamo Reprise" by Edith Pollitz? See how a "resurrected" William Barret Travis has to deal with a modern society that seems to have no use for dusty old heroes. Past and present collide as "Buck" must face off not only historical revisionists, but his own 1836 demons, as well. Written by a Travis historian who knows her stuff, "Victory Or Death" will grip you and then hold you to the last page. Contact Edith by emailing her directly for a signed copy at carolinavirginia@aol.com

Many of you may have noticed by now how many Photobucket photos posted on the forum now have a Photobucket message in their place. The reason for this is that Photobucket has done away with their free accounts. A Photobucket member used to be allowed a 1500 photo album before having to buy in to unlimited posting and storage. Now, Photobucket is charging $399 per year to be able to post your photos onto a forum. Of course many people are not buying into that arrangement, so Photobucket is keeping their photos hostage until they do.
In the future, if you wish to add a photo to your post, merely use the photo attachment option which requires you to add the url.
