I have a real mushy banana sitting on the kitchen counter. Instead of merely throwing it out, I think I'll just mash it up into some oatmeal tomorrow morning. This sort of salvage job works well with all manner of soft fruit and kinda zips up the oatmeal, seeing as how I only get plain, quick oats. If I had a box of banana bread, I could use it for that. Instead of the required two eggs, I just substitue an entire banana. It makes for real moist bread. Potassium in action!

You can make your own Müsli! Oatmeal with raisins, Small pieces of various nuts, banana slices and whatever you feel like putting in. It´s much cheaper than buying Müsli from the supermarket and you get exactly what you like. Taste better too... My Mom actually brought Müsli from Ikea (Swedish market and Furniture Store) and she made me try it and it was very good and very healthy.

Oatmeal is supposed to be one of the best things out there for cholesterol. My cholesterol isn't high but it isn't low either, but I still should eat more of it. Add a little brown sugar and some raisins, and you have a delicous and quick breakfast.

My favorite would have to be an Everything bagel without Caraway (Sp?) seeds. If their are those seeds on there, i just can't eat it. Sesame is pretty good too but the salt bagel is a stroke waiting to happen.

For a tasty change, try french fried yams. Cut 'em 'wedgie style', coat in olive oil, place on a cookie sheet and then bake to your desired crispness. they are very good
