There is so much to spot in this film I doubt there will still be many more things that haven't been noticed.

I cannot understand why Jocko rode in with Houston, incidentally I didn't actually see him with the riders until they stopped outside the buildings in the town, then to ride out with them as he did, does anyone know why he did this? his horse seemed to be really small and he rode a different one when he entered the Alamo with Bowie.
Also he is seen standing around a lot especially in the scene where Bonham comes to tell them that Fannin isn't coming.
I know the scene where his wife was leaving the Alamo was meant to be serious but I couldn't help laughing when she told him to "Get Back Up on The Walls" I often wonder if she wanted rid of him.

I think the main question is, do you want an entertaining film, or a good documentary? It's kind of hard to attempt to balance the two and then please everyone. THE ALAMO (1960) is film. THE ALAMO (2004) is very expensive TV docu-drama. I like it a lot, but I love The Waynamo. Another historical film I love that strays from history is PATTON. Would I change a single frame of it though? Not on your life! If it didn't happen that way, it should have. "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend."

Nice stuff, Alex. I especially like the look the Dickinsons are exchanging in the last screen capture. One photo's got me stumped though. In what scene are both Dickinson and Travis on horseback inside the Alamo compound? That's the scene where Travis is asking the garrison to give three cheers to Davy Crockett's men who have just entered inside the Alamo.

I have the laser disc of the extended version of The Alamo and was wondering if there was some easy way to tranfer that to DVD as the laser disc quality is perfect.

Thanks, Rebal. Those movie stills really help gear me up for the showing of the Waynamo in San Antonio, this coming October 5th. Anyone else going? Why are they showing the Alamo what's the occasion?

Sounds like a big project, could you not write a totally fictional account of his childhood aimed at the childrens market?

I have decided to end the actual story with the aftermath of the battle and what happens to the survivors and another incicent involving Santa Anna sending three officers to the Alamo to blow it up before they are stopped by some ghostly figures (which is said to have actually happened). The epilogue which is only about two pages will go into San jacinto, fort defiance, goliad, etc. Sounds as though that should be a good ending.

I have the three 120mm depicting the trinity from JW film which I will eventually get around to painting. Where did you order them? Of course, you will post photos of them, upon completion. Unfortunately the firm that made them closed down they also did a full set of figures from the film Zulu which would have appealed to Bromhead.
