It do! I wonder if any other Alamo movie will be remembered with such affection, 40 plus years later?
The average viewer is unaware of "Last Command", "Price Of Freedom", vaguely knows and hates "13 Days" and didn't go to see "The Alamo 2004", at all.

Davy Crockett (John Wayne) meets his end at the point of a Mexican lance in this behind the scenes shot from "The Alamo" (1960).

Hay Ned, i think the upper level of the long barracks is still there, look at the low roof over-hang over the soldado's head and to the right. in the movie, it was destroyed when the upper level blew up, when Thimblerigg died (BTW why was he on the roof when he should have been at the palisade) anyway, i see some fellers sitting along the "Porch" of the upper story.....Are you confused now.

Yeah, Bromhead, a lot of scenes appear to have been filmed out of sequence. In Crockett's death scene, for instance, there are soldados already in the chapel when he arrives at the door! What are they doing there? While some soldados did come into the chapel through a breach in that building's north wall, this was during Jim Bowie's death scene. For them to already be in the building when Wayne arrives suggests that Widmark's death was filmed first and then tacked on later. It may sound funny now, but it could well be that Widmark had insisted that his death scene be shown last as part of his contractulal agreement. Even as recently as the VHS release of the Director's cut of the Waynamo, Widmark had his face added to the cover art. On the original VHS release---and the laser disc--- only Wayne's mug is seen.

Joan O'Brien and Ken Curtis, as the Dickinsons. Ken and Joan, both professional singers in their own right, do a memorable version of "Tennessee Babe" in the Director's cut of "THE ALAMO". They also do an---in my opinion---even better version of the song in the "Spirit Of The Alamo" TV special. Notice how Ken is wearing a red, double-breasted bib shirt, much like the one that John Wayne wore in the ever popular, "The Searchers". Heck, Ken was in that picture, too! Maybe it's even the same shirt!

For those of you who have never seen the interior of the Waynamo chapel from 1959, here it is. (Note the frescos painted on the walls, much like the ones that were recently discovered at the REAL Alamo!
