Steins? They look like normal sized beer glasses to me. Steins are made in cheramics (or something like that) are´nt they?

I hope the no-beer-condition isnt permanent... It be. Just part of life, sometimes. I'm on a restricted diet that excludes salt, caffeine and alcohol. (So this means no coffee, or Aztec hot chocolate, with just a dash of cayenne, either.)

That sucks, Nef! I hope your restricted diet is´nt caused by something too serious... Oh, it can be serious, if I indulge in these delicacies once more. It's an inner ear problem which causes vertigo. By controling my diet though, I haven't had an episode for almost a year now.

That sounds like a friend of my mom, only it wasnt vertigo, just a extremely bad headache. She couldnt drink alcohol of any kind or eat white flour (whenever we went for pizza, she would have to get a meatball sub without the bread). Strange...

It's frightening... It's like death must feel like. You become nauseated... the rooms starts spinning around violently and your ability to control your motions is denied you. To get anywhere, you have to crawl...slowly, with your eyes closed. And even then, the spinning continues in your head. Your break out in a cold sweat and your skin tone goes pure white.
The first time I had a spell and was rushed to the emergency room, they treated me as though I were having a heart attack. It was far from that, but just as scary.
Kids, don't try this at home. Or, better yet, don't try it on the freeway, during rush hour. I know. I did once and barely made it home.
These are just the facts and not meant to upset anyone. It might be helpful to know these things the next time we meet. If I start to look dizzy, or start tottering, there's always 2 meclezine pills in a pillbox in my pocket to set me right.

I think what qualifies as a stein is any drinking receptcle with a lid on it. While I have seen some glass steins, you are right that most are ceramic. One of my brothers, who was stationed in Germany back in 1980, got my Dad a pewter stein. It was a true piece of craftsmanship.

Nef, looks like you'll have to stock up on some near-beer.

Nef, looks like you'll have to stock up on some near-beer. Old Milwaukee has a non-acoholic beer. Perhaps I will try that. O'Douls is more expensive and, I think, has a little alcoholic content, too.

That´s severe! And I guess that´s a permanent condition. Well, if it was´nt for bad luck we would have no luck at all...

Well, as Steve McQueen once said in THE MAGNIFACENT SEVEN, "So far, so good.' I think he played a great part in that film, loved the part with him and Yul Brenner on the hearse going up the street to Boot Hill.
