Nah! I just had a Reuben Sandwich tonignt because the line was shortest at that booth. (The potato pancake booth had a line extending clear outside the pavillion. Crazy.)
Well, I should've seen it coming, being the last night of the fest and all. Traffic was backed up for at least a mile from the Wurstfest grounds so, I found a parking lot about two blocks from the grounds and then just hiked in. So did a lot of other people. It was really congested inside the fest grounds and difficult to move at all. Folks packed the big tent to capacity, while others merely stood outside looking in and listening to the band play on stage, while swaying in time to the music. Practically everyone had a pitcher-sized beer mug in their hands and, at certain cues from the band, the folks seated at the tables would suddenly arise in unison and raise their glasses to the sky.
I made my way into the little tent where a band was performing some polka music and couples were making use of the extensive dance floor.
It was there I ate my Reuben Sandwich and gulped down my lemonade. As people were saving seats at the tables for others of their party who would be arriving later, I vacated my seat, felt my way through the crowd and then headed for the exit gate. I was back at home by 7:00 PM.

Did they serve warm German beer or was it ice cold? Good question. I don't know. But the Brits really enjoy their warm bitter. Just ask RebAl.

When my dad's business partner from England came to the United States back in the early 90's, my dad took him to a Ranger game at Madison Square Garden. There the guy bought 2 beers and left them under his seat for a period and a half until they warmed up. Then he drank them down. Strange but I guess they find us strange as well...

In Paris, France, I went to this pushcart street vendor to get a Coke and all of his beverages were warm. None of the locals seemed to mind.

When is the next Wurst fest? It's usually the last week in October, overlapping into November. But the calendar fell funny this year, so it was all in November.

Currently, the population is around 36,500, about 1/3 greater than its 1990 census. There's been a lot of new housing going up.

Hey Guys, we don't drink any Beer warm, all the ale we drink is cold to a certain extent, but nowhere near as cold as yours, I love our beer but I also enjoy your cold Bud when we are over there. Do you remember what John Cleese told the audience at" The Secret Policemans Ball" he said that American Beer was like making love in a Canoe " Frigging close to water"

Some German Beers are nice but I'm not too keen on the flavour of the Wheat Beer, Where does Sam Adams come from, never heard of that one. A lot of the best English Beer comes from the North of the country, so Reb could tell you all about the good ones. Cheers Guys.

Have you tried the strong beer that they sell in the Liquor Store on East Houston In San Antone just around the corner from the Alamo, It comes in a can much larger than normal and it's about 8.5 percent by volume, tastes nice too, can't remember what it's called.

I think it's brewed in the U.S. Ned, it,s comes in a big silver can about the same size as the large Fosters and I think the word" Steel"appears in it's name. Hope they have plenty in stock next March!

Hope they have plenty in stock next March! It's called STEEL RESERVE and it's brewed in Fort Worth, Texas. I'm sure they'll have some when you arrive.
