FRANK THOMPSON'S "THE GREAT CHRISTMAS MOVIES" TO AIR AGAIN ON AMC ON CHRISTMAS DAY You'll have to get up early -- or set the timer on your VCR -- but the one hour special "The Great Christmas Movies" -- written and directed by Frank Thompson -- is airing for the fifth year in a row at 6 A.M. (EST) on Christmas Morning. "The Great Christmas Movies" is a salute to all those wonderful holiday films from "Miracle on 34th Street" to "It's a Wonderful Life" to "A Christmas Carol." Featuring clips of dozens of films, all the way back to a 1905 version of "The Night Before Christmas," "The Great Christmas Movies" covers all your favorites -- and will probably introduce you to a few Christmas classics that you've never seen. Narrated by host Shirley Jones, the special was produced by Thomas W. Holland. It features interviews with stars and filmmakers like Tim Allen ("The Santa Clause"), Chevy Chase ("National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"), Denzel Washington and Witney Houston ("The Preacher's Wife"), Margaret O'Brien ("Meet Me in St. Louis"), June Lockhart ("A Christmas Carol"), David Huddleston ("Santa Claus: The Movie"), Darren McGavin (The Old Man in "A Christmas Story"), Olivia Hussey ("Jesus of Nazareth" and "Black Christmas"), Bob Clark (director of the classic "A Christmas Story" as well as "Black Christmas") and Peter Billingsly (Ralphie in "A Christmas Story"). Frank Thompson, writer and director of the special, also wrote the companion book, "AMC's Great Christmas Movies" published by Taylor Pub. in 1998. This beautiful coffee table book can be purchased directly from the author on his website. www.frankthompson.tvThis may be the last season that this special airs on AMC. Even though it isn't programmed at the most opportune time of day, it'll still help you get your Christmas morning off to the right start. Enjoy the special and HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Ah... What exactly ails you, Mike? Or is this not a proper forum in which to discuss such things?

Ah... What exactly ails you, Mike? Or is this not a proper forum in which to discuss such things? Well to make it short so those darn moderators don't yell for drifting off topic ;D This past November 7th, i was getting ready to go to work. I bent over to put on my work boots when i felt severe pain in my lower back. My daughter had to drive me to the emergency room because i couldn't walk. They admitted me for 7 days trying to get a lid on the pain. They couldn't so i was transfered to the Good Samaritan hospital in Kearney Ne. As soon as they wheeled me to my room, hooked up my Morphine drip IV, the Neurosurgeon came in and told me i needed emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on my spinal cord. When i woke up, the dr said that my L5 disk was completely destroyed and he had to remove it piece by piece. He fused the vertabrae and sent me home about 6 hours later. Now, my right leg and foot are mostly numb, i can't walk very far before the pain is to severe and my lower back feels like i'm being constantly hit with a red hot 16lb sledge hammer. Yesterday the dr told me that the paralysis i have may be permanent. He wants to try a few things before he makes the "Official Call".. lessons learned here....bend at the knees not your back..
