Miss Congeniality (2000)

Although not technically an Alamo-related film, MISS CONGENIALITY (2000), starring Sandra Bullock, does take place primarily in San Antonio, with a crucial scene enacted on Alamo Plaza, directly in front of the chapel.

PLOT:

Gracie (Sandra Bullock) is a rough and ready, tom-boy of an FBI agent who has been assigned to go undercover as a contestant in a beauty pageant to help thwart a bomb threat by an angry group of feminist terrorists. However, she needs a lot of help from an image consultant (Michael Caine) before she can become beauty pageant material. Benjamin Bratt (of JAMES MICHENER'S TEXAS) plays Gracie's FBI partner. Candace Bergen plays the pageant coordinator, and William Shatner plays the pageant's host.

Anyhow, as previously stated, the beauty pageant takes place in San Antonio and a lot of the city is showcased, particularly the Ahmanson River Theater and the Riverwalk. A preliminary to the beauty pageant takes place on Alamo Plaza itself, with the beauty contestants performing on a stage set up in front of the Alamo chapel.

Bratt's performance was the only good thing in TEXAS, which I felt was an overall disaster.

Wish Frank would drop by to get the story right. As I seem to remember hearing from him though, he was on the set of some production around the time of SPEED (1994) waiting to do an interview with Ms. Bullock. She arrived very late though and somewhat upset. "Sorry I'm late," she said, "but someone broke into my car." "Was that you?" Frank replied kiddingly, or so he thought. "Your tapedeck doesn't work, you know." With that, Frank says, she took my forearm and bit it really hard.

I guess you just got to know who to kid with. (Frank adds that she was actually very nice and down to earth thereafter.)

I know about this movie.
I watched this first time in 2004. Although i watched this too late but i must say that the acting and the direction reveal in the movie that movie was made with great effort and involvement. All the crew did justify with their jobs....byron bay resorts
