I gave it a 2 out of 5 just because it's an "Alamo" movie and i liked Raul Julia's "Santa Anna"

While it was pretty bad,it probably has the most accurate Crocketts death scene simpily overwhelmed defending the palisade wall

In my opinion, Alec Baldwin greatly resembled the old Travis portrait shown here.

And the entire movie/battle took place at the South wall. And don't forget, Bromhead! Baldwin's Travis died defending the north 'well'.

If I remember correctly .NBC had a big build up about it and then it wasn't good at all. I did watch it,just because it was on the Alamo..

I have James Mitchners "Texas" on VHS and it's on two tapes but it is only 2 1/2 hrs long. I think that it is a gimmick that makes you believe that it's an "Epic" and will be good, well, their WRONG!!!! Mike

that movie sucked! i sold my vhs copy of that on EBAY. You actually found a buyer??? I thought I was the only sucker to buy it. I have a few things i would like to sell on ebay but they require a credit card for a "serrers" account and i don't have one.. Thats right, i'm probably the only adult over 40 who doesn't have a credit card other than a gas card. Mike

Looking from the reconstructed Waynamo baptistry, toward the Low Barrack. This reconstruction was done in 1987 for the filming of GONE TO TEXAS and 13 DAYS TO GLORY. (Before the 13 DAYS palisade was built.) Notice how the ground outside the Alamo compound seems to slope down? The Waynamo is actually built on a small hill.

I like how the entire battle took place along the south wall. It did look like some of the actors had actual brown bess's rather than the usual Hollywood trap door springfields with the fake lock.

I like the scene where Gregorio Esparza is getting ready to aim and his gun goes off prematurely and he just sort of looks at it in surprise.
