In this scene from "Last Command", the Texians along the west wall are giving cover fire for a returning courier.

Didn't they film it at Ft Clarke Springs? and is there any thing left of the site?

According to Alamo Village manager, Rich Curilla, "Last Command", while filmed in Brackettville, was not filmed on the Shahan Ranch, but rather on nearby (Hobbs?) Ranch. Rich allows how there is nothing left of the "Last Command" set, as its walls had merely been constructed of prefabricated fiberglass sheets over a wood frame.
"Uh, that wall could stand a mite fixin'!"

The Alamo set never had a church if i remember. But i think in a shot showing everybody going to the Alamo, you can see the arched hump and the 2nd story windows of the church....if i remember correctly. ;D Mike

Dickinson opens the gate for Bonham so that he can make his famous ride. Notice, in the absence of a chapel altogether, how the set designers made the main gate sort of suggest the Alamo chapel, with the three windows and pseudo-hump? (John Wayne /Al Ybarra aparently liked the idea, for the Waynamo also sports a sort of 'hump' over its main gate.)

for bromhead: in the shot you mention you can see and alamo chapel of some sort, but thats all.
why didnt they built a chapel facade.? you see them inside and on top(when hayden is talking to alberghetti) but not in front. they went through buliding all that, why not just finish it off.

In this photo of the Texians falling back into the mission, the Alamo church----hump and all--- is merely a matte painting. When Bowie and Consuelo go up into the tower, it's actually that tower on the end of the Long Barrack. In this next photo of the Texians heading toward the Alamo from Bejar, the San Antonio River is actually the Hobbs Ranch water tank for cattle, while the town itself, merely a matte painting. With the emergence of CGI, Matte painting seems to have become a dying art form. Pity.
