Although I have never been to Hastings, Nebraska I once knew someone on one of the forums who lived close to there and I always thought it was quite a small place so if that is the case how are they going to show the Alamo Price of Freedom there?

Recently, I contaced my brother who lives in Hastings, Nebraska regarding POF possibly showing there. After investigating, he responded how the film is not showing as listed in any of the local papers and that the IMAX theater in Hastings is under new management and will not be showing ANY more IMAX films from now on... Oh well.

Bromhead, Roger Ragland had ordered full size statues, but when the order failed to materialize at the time of filming, he had to rush to some garden pottery shop in Del Rio and then take what he could get. Roger says, that using the dimensions of the statues that were to be put into the niches determined how and where to put those bases you see. That's Roger Ragland on the forklift, with the chapel facade, before the statue niche altetations were begun.

The Waynamo set, a few months after Alamo, The Price Of Freedom had wrapped. Happy Shahan put plywood and tarpaper rooves on all the new POF buildings to make them more permanent structures. (During filming, they'd only had straw rooves.) Happy also put a gate in the west wall where a "plug" had once been. The "plug", a removable piece of false wall, was used to allow the camera crews and their cumbersome equipment easy access into the compound. It was at this time that Happy also put new doors on the chapel. (The previous doors had been removed by POF set designer, Roger Ragland, for the sake of historical accuracy.)

I wonder why they didn't remove the structure that butts up against the north west edge of the chaple? Were they not allowed to?

I sure hope that Lubby's will release it on DVD sometime in the future. I know that they are worried that if they do, it will lower ticket sales at the theater. IMO, i think they would make more money if thet did release it on DVD because alot of people can't for one reason or another travel to San Antonio so, thats where they would make more money by those very people....I know i'd buy it..

In this scene above the Low Barrack roof, Craig Covner, Jerry Laing, Larry Grimsley and I were all suppose to fall dead from a Mexican volley. Larry however wasn't so keen about being killed without a fight and rushed forward to scuffle with a soldado who was coming over the wall on a ladder. They choreographed the scene in advance, just so no one would get hurt. (Nobody did.) That's Larry, silhouetted against the facade of the Alamo church and rushing forward towards the 18 pounder.
