Every day on the history channel from 6-7:00am Mike Rowe hosts a show called "The Most..." and today's episode was "The Most Controversial Sieges". As I was watching I wondered if the Alamo would count as a controversial seige and sure enough there was a 10 minute segment on the Alamo. During that time they recreated the battle with footage from the WAYNEAMO, LAST COMMAND, REMEMBER THE ALAMO, HEROES OF THE ALAMO, MARTYRS OF THE ALAMO and what I think was WITH DAVY CROCKETT AT THE FALL OF THE ALAMO. Overall, it was a very nice piece and certainly unexpected. After that they showed the siege on the Branch Davidians in Waco Texas.

Hmmm... Usually the History Channel just repeats the Alamo scenes using footage from their Alamo documentary with Jeff Bearden, as Crockett and Jack Edmondson, as Bowie. Thanks for the tip, I will look for a repeat.

Thanks for the tip, I will look for a repeat. There was one wuick shot of Jack Edmonson but the rest was footage from the aformentioned movie.

We don´t have History Channel over here. Just Discovery. I finally found my Alamo program, taped from Discovery. It´s from the series The Real West and it´s hosted by Kenny Rogers. Musso is in it. He shows his Bowie knife and tells how to fight with it. I believe Walther Lord´s also in it. I think it´s a good and sober Alamo program! No doubt you guys here already know it...

Yeah, the Kenny Rogers hosted program only makes you wish that they would spend more time with Joe Musso and his Bowie knife collection. For a longer segment of Musso, check out Frank Thompson's THE ALAMO, A TRUE STORY OF COURAGE. Joe has longer screen time there with his collection, while Frank Thompson and others discuss the Alamo in film and popular culture.

Crockett,(Jeff Bearden) Bowie, (Jack Edmondsen) Travis, and Joe in one of the early History Channel presentations. Late 90's right? They have been using clips of those three for as long as I can remember. I think that's ever the same Crockett from another documentary of theirs called "Boone and Crockett: Hunter Heroes".

Well, it has to be at least 2004, as that's the Dripping Springs church.
