SAYS TED: In this staged promotional photo, Walt Disney reviews the Davy Crockett “script” with star Fess Parker and director Norman Foster. Parker looks a little happier — or at least less pensive — holding the gun than the guitar.

SAYS TED: Finally, here’s one of my favorite Walt Disney photos, taken at “Disney Night at the Hollywood Bowl” on August 1, 1958. Walt dons the famous headgear as he addresses the audience. Check out the smarmy look on the face of the man to his right. I love it!

Great Disney pic! He looks like a "Junior Woodchuck". Huey, Dewey and Louie would be proud of him... ;D

This was my intro to the Alamo as a child, though I was born long after it came out (around the time Alamo: the Price of Freedom was being made.) When I was five years old, my dad got a copy of Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier, probably just to keep me entertained for that afternoon. I ended up watching it almost every day for weeks, and even had my own "Crockett Craze," I had to get a Coonskin cap and a toy rifle for my birthday that year.

Every time I mention Davy Crockett, my mom sings this portion of "We Didn't Start the Fire" : Davy Crockett, Peter Pan, Elvis Presley, Disneyland. Any of you think she was referring to the movie?
