When Seti the first was killed in battle against the Hyksos it was assumed that his Son Nefer would take his place as the God Head. However not everything worked out as had been hoped. Nefer incurred the wrath of the Gods by denouncing the pantheon and setting himself as the only true God of the Upper and Lower Kingdoms. For his sacrilege, he was removed from power and condemned to be an outcast in the desert.
His Twin sister Neferteri took his place as the Leader of Egypt, reinstating the old Gods of their ancestors.
However, while Neferteri’s reign was marked by great blessings from the Gods, on the borders of her realm all was not peaceful. The outcast Nefer had sought an alliance with Hyksos promising them a union between their two kingdoms if their army supported him in over throwing his sister.
The Hyksos marched on Egypt within a year of Nefers offer and the armies clashed in Gallia, when the battle was over a stalemate had been reached neither army advancing beyond a few feet. Both sides employing all the skills open to them to gain even a few feet of ground, Medji in the service of the Queen and Hyksoian knights fighting on Nefers behalf. Both sides have the services of the Magi and Priests while Babylonian and Nubian warriors have joined either side or simply sell their skills to the highest bidder.
The Battle continues, not only in the minor skirmishes in Gallia but also in the towns and cities all over Upper Egypt under the cover of darkness and subterfuge.
