Bromhead24 talked about "The Grave Robber" in the post about the bugle He was Tim Van Den Berg and have past away some time Last year 2011. To us in South Africa He was well known, scouring the the battlefields at night with metal detectors and a team of helpers and illegally removing everything he could laid his hand on. A lot of relics FROM Local Museums disappeared, including Anglo Boer War medals. At Nkambula one night a excavator came and dig up part of the cemetery and disappeared in the early morning hours. all suspected this man but could not be caught. Luckily huge part of his collection is in a private museum now at Mtonjani lodge. But his Daughter is selling and giving away lots of his personal hidings and own collections to Friends and any one. This history is now disappearing into thin air as much of these people don't know the historical value of this relics.
