Cartoonist Johnny Hart, best known for his daily comic strips B.C. and THE WIZARD OF ID, passed away this past Saturday at the age of 76. His wife said that he was working at his storyboard when he just keeled over. His syndicated strip B.C. about hip cavemen had a readership of over 1,000,000 people daily.
My favorite character as a child---B.C. dates back to the 1950's---was The Midnight Skulker. I even used to clip the comic strip and paste it in an album.
R.I.P., Johnny. I do hope that the papers will continue to run your strip as "Classic" B.C., much like Charles Schultz's PEANUTS strip continues to run. Both are timeless.
