Here is a bit on the ghost of John Wayne and the Alamo and it can be found on the second link below! All these links are loaded with great ghost stories and such concerning the Alamo! ;D TED COLE....aka....Cole_blooded Come on take a read, don`t be scared it`s Halloween! Another ghost who is reportedly seen is that of John Wayne. When the “Duke” directed and acted in the 1960 movie “The Alamo,” he became obsessed with its history. Insisting on historical accuracy he personally toured the Alamo on several occasions and consulted the actual blueprints of the fortress before spending some $1.5 million dollars re-creating an exact replica of the old mission in Brackettville, Texas . In addition to a replica of the mission, an entire village was constructed for the movie, which has since become a tourist attraction and has been used as the set for other films. Shortly after he died, staff and visitors began to report sightings of the “Duke” walking the grounds of the original Alamo. Some say he is often seen talking with the spirits of the original Alamo defenders. www.book-of-thoth.com/article657.htmlwww.legendsofamerica.com/TX-Alamo.htmlwww.militaryghosts.com/alamo.htmlwww.tamu.edu/ccbn/dewitt/adp/archives/feature/ghost.htmlwww.utahghost.org/Ghost_articles/Alamo.htmlphotos1.ghostweb.com/dionni1.html ...........Hope you had a scary read!......Count Chocula ;D

Not a ghost story but I thought at the time this was quite creepy. I took the color photograph just outside of Harpers Ferry some years back, much later I was looking through one of the current Civil War magazines and noticed the black/white photograph which I have inserted at the bottom of my picture, if you remove the trees it looks as though it was taken in more or less the same position!

There is a book that i saw a few years back. Author took all of the old photos of the Gettysburg battlefield and tried to find the exact spot where the photos where taken and snapped modern photos.
I can't remember the name of the book but it was very interesting.

Ah yes, GETTYSBURG, THEN AND NOW. Lots of images of dead, mutilated and bloated bodies of soldiers strewn about, or else layed out in neat burial lines.
I wonder if field photographers today would be allowed such freedom in photographing the dead? Today, it might be looked upon as a sign of disrespect.

I don't know much about photographing the dead but some of the images on the News programmes don't leave much to the imagination. I can still remember the one where the Vietcong prisoner was shot in the head and that happened years ago.
