Due to legal issues hanging over home-run king Barry Bonds' head, it seems that the San Francisco Giants will not be picking him up next season. A grand jury has been investigating whether Bonds committed perjury when he testified he never knowingly took performance-enhancing drugs.
Bonds, who just completed his 22nd major league season, has 762 career homers and broke Hank Aaron's home run record with No. 756. On Aug. 7, he was told by Giants owner Peter Magowan that he would not be brought back for a 16th season in San Francisco.
"I told Peter Magowan, 'If I'm a part-time player, I'm still better than your full-time player, and it's a wise idea to keep me,"' Bonds said. "We still have time. Things might change."
So, does anyone have further insight on this story and do you think San Francisco should pick up Barry Bonds' option, since it looks like he probably won't be indicted?

Before the season ended the Giants announced they would not sign him. As a lifetime SF Giants fan, its sad to see him go but the team can only start to rebuild with him gone. As for him being indicted, you know what happens to famous people on trial in California...
