Like the Rangers....by signing Drury and Gomez there in a win-now mode. Sometimes its good, sometimes its not...

Having been born and raised in south jersey, i have always been a Flyers fan. In the late 70's my dad had season tickets and i watched many Flyers games..The old "Broad Street Bullies"

You can't beat Rangers-Flyers games from the 80's. Ive seen alot on "Rangers Classics" which airs every few weeks on Madison Square Garden TV network. It was such a different game, you could get away with so much more back then. And the object of the game was defense, not offense. I prefer it that way.

When I had season tickets to the Islanders, I remember when Clark Gillies knocked Dave "The Hammer" Schultz into the next time zone. Bobby Clarke was probably the dirtiest player I've ever seen, but he was good. He was lucky he had guys like Saleski, Leach, Clement and the rest to help and guys liek Schultz and Dupont to clean up his messes, and Bernie Parent in goal, one of the best ever. Despite their filthy tactics, they were a great hockey team and finesse teams like the Rangers were scared stiff of them.

Are you a Ranger fan, devils fan, islanders fan, or flyers fan? i thought you said you were a fan of the devils and then you mention you had isles season tix...

Now I go back in hockey almost 50 years, so while I am unabashedly a Devils fan now, and have been since the mid 80s, (I was still also rooting for the Isles for as long as they had Trottier , Nystrom, Potvin and Bossy), I had Islanders season tickets before the Devils even existed, during the Isles Stanley Cup years. I started rooting for the Isles in the late 70s when they got Trottier and Bossy. After they got rid of the last of those guys, that was it for me. Before the Isles existed, in the 50s and 60's, I was a Rangers fan and after the Devils now, I still like the Rangers as my second team. But if it came down to the Rangers vs. the Devs, I want the Devs. However, it would be real hard for me to root against Scotty Gomez. I NEVER was a Flyers fan, but did respect their talent and desire to win. Being a Jersey boy growing up, the Rangers and Isles were never really a "home" team, but that all changed when the Devs moved to Jersey. As you will recall, they were also the Kansas City Scouts and Colorado Rockies. In contrast, I have been since I was 4 years old, and always will be, a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and an Arizona Cardinals fan.
