Last night after the flight from San Antonio, I got home just in time to see the New York Rangers clinch a playoff spot for the second straight year. Now its time to keep with the old tradition of not shaving until you team is eliminated, I might actually grow a beard.

Well Greg, it looks like the Rangers have Atlanta right where they want them, on the ropes. I thought sure the Thrashers would put up a bigger fight in their first playoff appearance but, losing like they are can sometimes teach volumes to a sports team. I haven't been able to see much of the Rangers in the playoffs but, with two former Red Wings leading the charge, Brendan Shanahan and Sean Avery, I might be able to catch a game on tv in the next round. As for my Red Wings, they're just starting the second period of game 3 vs the Flames, no score so far. Sure would love to see the Wings win this one and put Calgary on the ropes. Wings need a good playoff series win after some pretty awful early ko's the last three seasons. Wouldn't it be something if it turned out to be a Wings-Rangers final for the Cup? A great Original 6 matchup. I don't think they've played each other in the finals since 1950. I was 3 yrs old at the time. I really want the Wings to win another Cup. It would be their 11th Cup win and put them even closer to the holier than thou Toronto Maple Leafs for the number two spot in Cup wins.
