Kenneth Robert's "Boon Island" is one of the better cannibal books out there. For a horrific, yet realistic look at a party of shipwrecked sailours in the early part of the 19th Century, this book's for you.
Has anyone out there read any other of Roberts' historical novels?
Arundel (Arnold's siege of Quebec) Rabble In Arms (The American Revolution) Oliver Wiswell (A Tory's tale of the Revolution) Northwest Passage (The story of Roger's Rangers)

I've read all of Kenneth Roberts' books except for TEXT. Saw the film version of TEXT on TV once; always thought the others would make fine films if done right.

Well, trying to italicize Northwest Passage and Captain Caution, respectively, didn't work one bit.

What did you think of OLIVER WISWELL? I've only read it once, back in high school over 30 years ago. Don't recall feeling much sympathy toward the Loyalist main character at the time. I oughta reread it from an adult's perspective one of these days. Right now I'm finishing Ann Coulter's new book, and then have to resume reading the Aubrey/Maturin series. Rick
