Monday, September 3rd is Labor Day, the unofficial 'last day of summer'. While some schools have already commenced their new semester, for many, Labor Day marks the final hours of their summer vacation. Back in California, I would traditionally torch up the old barbecue and slice up the watermelon. Reckon I will be doing the same, here in Texas. What will you all be doing that day?

We don´t have Labor Day over here but we do celebrate May 1 (the international workers movement day) which is a holliday. We celebrate it with polical speeches, good food and drink, live music etc. Maybe our May 1 equals your Labor Day more or less?

I will be doing nothing. Nothing is an action, so its physically impossible to do nothing.

It's forecast to be thundering and lightning all weekend. Quite a storm going on overhead right now, though not much precipitation to speak of---yet.

The library will be closed Monday, in honor of Labor Day, so I won't be posting then. Think I'll go and get some Brats and fire up the old grill...
Adios, 'til Tuesday.

A light rain began falling yesterday afternoon, so I was unable to torch up the barbecue. Ended up doing my brats on an indoor grill, but ate them out on the (covered) back porch, all the same. A light drizzle continues this morning.

I see that this place is not a completer ghosttown! I was in San Francisco visiting my niece, and I attended the Highland games in Pleasanton, CA, with my niece.

Great photos, TexasMac! Thanks for posting. I used to go to the Scottish Festival in Chino Hills California. I think the venue has changed since then, however.

Well, as you live in the TX Hill Country, you may want to consider going to the Salado Highland Games (btwn Austin and Waco) in mid-November and the San Antonio HG the weekend of March 31st/Apr 1.
