Mary (Keisha Castle-Hughes) I just saw THE NATIVITY STORY, starring Keisha Castle-Hughes (Oscar nominee for WHALE RIDER) as Jesus' mother Mary and I must say that it is a very effecting, beautifully filmed movie that makes you feel as though you are hearing the tale for the very first time. Out go all of the pious, wooden charaterizations of past Christmas films, replaced by real people, with doubts, hopes and dreams. And, apart from that, the journey of Joseph (Oscar Isaac) and Mary across the real Holy Land is worth the price of admission itself. See this film. At the end, I know you will be applauding. The crowd in our theater did. Mary (Keisha Castle-Hughes) and Joseph (Oscar Isaac) enter Jerusalem.

I hope I'll have a chance to see it, probably with my parish as they are planning a showing.

I haven't been to a movie theater since Star Trek 6 back in 1990. The nearest theater is 75 miles from here..

The "largest city" is Broken Bow population 2000 (where i work) and it's about 22 miles one way. Next to that, is Kearney Ne, population 25,000 (where the movie theater is) There is a small theater in Broken Bow but they only show kiddie movies..
