Karma - what´s that?

I´ve noticed some members have : Karma 2 or karma 0 f.ex. - What does that stand for?
I´ve also noticed that different members have different titles or rank. What are the different titles and how do you get them?
While I´m at it, I have a problem with uploading an avatar. I tried to choose one from the bunch but it did´nt upload! Is there something wrong with the uploading device?
Another question. How do you upload an avatar from your own picture files (not from an URL address), if you prefer that?

-Karma is sort of like a member rating among other members. for example, If you are a member that does not annoy other members and is good poster, one might "exalt" you. if the member is annoying or has done something inapropriate, one might "smite" you.

-The titles members have go with the amount of posts they have. check www.alamosports.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=RULES&action=display&thread=1094935182 for a list of all ranks.

-As for your avatar problem, I have no idea how to fix it since probaords changed the settings when we upgraded a year ago. You could try the preloaded ones or maybe contact proboards.

Thanks for the answers, Davy! As for the avatar problem, I´ve tried several times (inc. just now) to upload one of the preloaded ones but they don´t work! And I did remember to click "modify profile"! - Strange, but it´s ok. It´s not important...
