Thanks, but it would be an expensive book with a limited audience. That's one of the reasons that that new WAYNAMO truibute book is so expensive. Do the same as seguin suggested, print out 1500 copies minus the ones you "give" us and put a $200.00 price tag and sign each book. And when you get close to running out, Print more at a $30.00 price tag and p*ss off the ones who paid $200.00 ;D

I am surprised that Nef wasn't asked to contribute some of his fantastic picture collection to that book.

Alex, some of my best Waynamo stills were acquired from someone else's collection, so I would hesitate to pass them on. Too bad they used those steamy photos of Linda Cristal in the book, though. I wonder what she must feel about them now?

The steamy photo´s of Linda Cristal seems like a cheap sales ploy - especially since they use those photo´s as part of the ad on their web page.

I know what you mean. I tend to think that it was because she was a woman, though and thus an easy target. Do you suppose if they'd found photos of John Wayne and his drinking buddies blasted out of their minds on the set and dancing around in their underwear, that they would've dared to print them in the book? Not bloody likely!

I don't recall seeing linda crystal in any steamy situations .. After the scene of Crockett and Flaca by the big tree, some of the crew playfully threw Linda Cristal into the river. When she emerged, she took off the wet dress in full view of the cast and crew, while a stills photographer happily snapped photo after photo of her. The photos were never intended to be released to the public, though. Again, what would Linda think today if she knew that the photos were published in a recent book without her blessings?

And why did they choose the sexy Linda Cristal pics instead of some Waynamo pics, when they composed the website ad for the book? When you compose an ad you think about what pics to choose and they chose the Linda Cristal pics. Why they chose those, I don´t know, your guess is as good as mine. But I do have an idea... As for the book itself, I don´t have an opinion since I have´nt seen it, but Alamobill (If I remember correctly) over at the alamofilm site seemed disappointed. He said it did´nt have any new info and there were very few "new" pics, and that it was more of a "beginners" book. That is of course only his opinion. If it was´nt so expensive I would buy it right away!

Well I must say I appreciate any new book on the Alamo film and always end up buying them.
This new one is alright but honestly not worth the money they charged for it I think the "John Wayne's The Alamo" was a better deal and a lot cheaper.
I honestly don't think they should have used those pictures of Linda Cristal and if she was to find out I don't think she would be too pleased either. I always put her down as a perfect lady and these make her look the complete opposite.

Yes, the now out-of-print Clark/Andersen book is wonderful! I wish that they would reprint that one in hard cover.

If you can snag the fifty dollar one, that would be a good deal on this wonderful, out of print book. I've seen it sell on eBay for $180.00. I guess the key word here is "scarcity".

Thanks, RebAl and Nef! I think I´ll check out Abebooks first, because when I was looking for Jackson´s "The Alamo, the story told from both sides.", Amazon.com wanted $76 plus shipping for a used copy and Amazon.co.uk wanted £50 plus shipping for another used copy. Luckily I found a new copy through Abebooks and the seller only wanted the original price - $22.95 plus shipping! So, I think I´ll have a look at some of the various book sites first...

I have a hard time reading anymore, i don't know if it's because of my mental state or i need new glasses or both. I seem to read the same sentence over and over and not know what i just read.... I did get two books from Amazon "Gettysburg A journey through time" and "Antietam" but can't read them......
