This past week, I took advantage of the positive turn in the weather by taking walks along the Guadalupe River. The warm breezes hushing though the branches of the pecan trees and over the face of the water, coupled with the occasional squirrel scampering by with a nut in its mouth made these outings especially pleasant ones. That is, until today, when the temperature dropped to around 45 and the wind chill factor brought even that down into the high thirties. While I completed the walk, I was rather glad to get back indoors once more to a hot cup of ginger tea.

When Jerry Laing was here for High Holy Days, we spent a pleasant morning checking out the sights in New Braunfels' Landa Park. Here are some of the photos taken that day.

This goose came ashore expecting a handout. Imagine her disappointment.

Jerry, along the Comal River. Dig those stands of trees in the water.

Clear water and warm as a hot tub. (It issues from a spring.)

I was walking along the Comal River in Landa park today and, even though it was but 65 degrees, some kids were swimming in a natural hot wading pool there. It's Spring Break and the paddle boats are in operation once more, along with the miniature train that will take you all around the park and along the river for a modest fee.
