In honor of V-day we had to write a poem for English class. I had to get some history in there so I based mine off of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre of 1929. Bullets for Valentine's Day
Valentine's day is such a big waste All these idiots buying candy and making haste. It's only good when done Chicago style With the Mafia stacking up bodies in a bloody pile. Cooking a fancy dinner in a cast iron pot With the sound of gunshots echoing from a back lot. Stupid pink hearts all over the wall Aligned with bullets holes down that very same hall. Buying overpriced flowers for your loved one In the other hand you hold a Tommy gun. Watching her drink down that glass of red wine When bullets came through the windows she screamed like swine. After the deed was done they celebrated in a pizzeria Hell, maybe Al Capone had the right idea

Ah! Humour Noir. They didn't send you to counselling for writing about guns and such, did they?

Funny poem, Greg! I hope the school won´t view you as a potential "Columbine" candidate because of you writing about guns and massacres... ;D

I haven't gotten into trouble (yet) but I don't think my English teacher liked it. But since she told us it could be a positive or negative view, I can't get into trouble.

No, being a sorta anti-Valentines Day poem, I´ll bet she did´nt like it! ;D Well, that´s her problem, you just did what you were told - and she did say it could be a negative view as well. As Lincoln could have said: The people can´t love everything all of the time...
