As can be seen from this photo of the GONE TO TEXAS/13DAYS west wall, little alteration was done, since the filming of BARBAROSA.

Larry "findem-killem" Grimsley defends the GONE TO TEXAS Long Barrack. Notice how the reconstructed "Travis' Headquarters" room was not even given a complete roof? I guess this may've solved a lighting problem when filming was going on in the cramped room.

Was there a Mexican drummer boy that really got killed that way? Yes, I believe it is mentioned in Benjamin Rusk's account, but I will check. The words are supposed to have been the drummer boy's last. (In Frank Thompson's novelization of THE ALAMO (2004), I am the one who kills the drummer boy! I am not proud. )
