What are your top twenty movies of all time. I know that twenty is a large number but please think about it and to make it harder, try to put them in order. 1. Braveheart 2. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly 3. Saving Private Ryan 4. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 5. Dances With Wolves 6. Gladiator 7. The Shawshank Redemption 8. Kingdom of Heaven 9. JFK 10. Gettysburg 11. The Patriot 12. The Alamo (1960) 13. El Dorado 14. The Outlaw Josey Wales 15. The Alamo (2004) 16. Scarface 17. The Godfather 18. Signs 19. Zulu 20. Ivanhoe My first ten are in order, the next ten are very hard to put in order. Good Luck

I got to meet the writer of We Were Soldiers and Braveheart, Randy Wallace. He was quite nice. He was selling his latest novel in 2004 in an autograph tent at the Longs Peak Highland Games in Estes Park, CO. Das Boot is also among my faves, too. TCM will be showing Gunga Din in the near future. You may want to keep your eyes peeled for it. Once Upon A Time in the West ranks up there for me.

I have many, but my all time fav is "The Thing From Another World" (1951). There are some Alamo connections with this movie. Dimitri Tiomkin, music, and Ken Tobey, Disney's Jim Bowie. Right now "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is on, another favorite.
As for Gettysburg; The director, screen writer, and producer of that film was Ron Maxwell. I went to HS with him, same scout troop, and he was a team manager on our undefeated state champ FB team, which I played on.

What ever happened to "Joan of Arc: Virgin Warrior"? It was a Maxwell film that was listed as in-production for more then a year. As far as I know now, it has been scrapped. Other then "Gettysburg", Maxwell's directing career has been pretty disastrous.

He's had another successful project from a number of years ago. He had Gods and Generals, which was not the success fo G'burg.

Read my review on G & G, located in the Civil War section. I liked it at first but after maturing and realizing what good movies are, I had to tear it apart.
