Teresa Champion, the Cantina table-top dancer in THE ALAMO, performs a flamenco dance before the film showing. Her husband, El Curro Champion, explained to us how she got to be in the film. Seems that El Curro was himself trying out for a part, when Wayne walked up and saw Teresa sitting in the car, nearby. Learning from El Curro that Teresa was a fine flamenco dancer, Wayne asked her to dance upon one of the tables in the Cantina. Being afraid of heights, Teresa almost refused, until El Curro convinced her by saying, "You want a new house? Then dance on the table." Teresa danced and the rest is, as they say, film history.

THe Champion dance troupe, with El Curro Champion, on guitar. El Curro reminded us that the opening guitar strains in THE ALAMO film are his.

In the first two photos from Davy, I'm standing at the gun position at the center of the north wall, while in the 3rd one, Mo is over by Laurence Harvey's cannon position at the NW corner.

Notice how they bricked up the north wall with red brick? During the PRICE OF FREEDOM, the brick was painted over. Then, a couple of rows of real adobe brick were added to line to top. A severe rain the September after filming wrapped reduced the adobes soon enough.
