When doing their monthly parody of the latest theatrical film, MAD MAgazine would always slightly alter the spelling of an actor's name. (To prevent a defamatory lawsuit, perhaps? )

Yeah, glad that you're back on, Mo, now post something, already! San Antonio, in the late 1950's, LOOKING EAST ON HOUSTON STREET. The Majestic Theater, where John Wayne's THE ALAMO premiered in 1960 is on the right, while the Emily Morgan Hotel (then, the Medical Arts Building) looms in the far distance.

For those of you who have been anxiously biting at the bit for news of an encore showing of John Wayne's THE ALAMO on the grounds of the Waynamo set, Ron Jones, the owner of the 35mm print, says that if it happens, it will be on Saturday, October 22, 2005. He will know for sure, later this week. Stay tuned...

IT'S OFFICIAL!
PER ROB JONES: Please join us at the Alamo Village for the 45th Anniversary showing of John Wayne's "THE ALAMO" on Saturday evening, October 22nd, 2005.
More details will be posted as they become available. Please don't call the ranch at this time as the production is still in development.
I spoke with Theresa Champion (who was only 17 at the time) this afternoon (the original Table Dancer) and she and her dance troup with be on of the sponsors doing a show prior to the Movie (her troup is designing new costumes for the event, as they are so excited to be part of history for "Mama Theresa").
Whew! It's taken awhile, but at least it's gonna happen.
Pull out those beaver hats and polish that Bowie Knife! It's gonna be a helluva event!
Hope to see ya' all and meet each of you there.
V/r
Rob Jones
