Hi Mike, here is a recipe I found on the Net. It is the way most Brits would make it, and the reference to" Mouse Droppings" sounds about right! www.recipezaar.com/72087

I think you are missing the point Greg, the subject of the posting by Mike was an example of Boring British Food, of which I gave a few examples, and they don't come much more boring than Spotted Dick, or perhaps greasy Fish and Chips. Are you going to be in San Antone next March? if so I can fetch a sample of S.D. for you to try, i'm sure you would love it!

Hey Greg, where do you find Smilies? When you go to make a post, they are located right above where you type. Just click the one you want. It doesn't work in the "Quick Reply".

A staple 'train' food I discovered in a Britrail dining car was a banger roll, which consists of a banger sausage, rolled up in a sort of Pillsbury dough crust and then baked.
For those of you who do not know what a banger sausage is, here's a description of its contents:
B--rains A--nuses N--oses G--uts E--ars R--enderings

Did you know that there is a variation of that Dish Ned? it was created for those people that wanted to execute a Woman for calling a Teddy Bear Mohammed. It's called an Anger Sausage Roll? it's made with almost the same ingredients, but they leave out the Brains! ;D Happy New Year Ned!

Same to you, henrywarnell! (And I kind of actually like banger rolls.) Were they called Banger Rolls or Sausage Rolls Ned? Sausage rolls are a Traditional snack food at Christmas over here, the ones that they sell in Supermarkets are normally made with Puff Pastry, but homemade ones we cook with Shortcrust Pastry, which are a lot nicer!

Mike, is Blood Sausage what we call Black Pudding? we slice it and fry it, along with Bacon, Eggs Tomato's and a fried slice. Enough said about Haggis, that has got to be akin to eating your own Intestines.

Well, they called 'em 'banger rolls' on the train, anyhow. And this was in March that I was traveling. I am a right sausage fiend, as the 'New Braunfels' thread will readily attest. Wish I'd had some of your wife's Christmas Eve treats.

Hi Ned, no I don't remember seeing the "Goodies" skit, that must have been a long time ago! By the way Ned, please call me John, I don't know why I picked Henry Warnell for a user name, I don't chew Tobbaco and I don't Ride a horse too well, and I'm certainly not small enough to be a Jockey!
