Judging from the last two pics, it looks great! It´s a bit hard to make out the details. I think you need some more light when you shoot the pics...

I have to learn how to adjust the lighting better on the camera. At first, the pictures were so washed out with light that they were unviewable. So I put the setting on 800 and then shot without a flash to give it that 'Alamo at dawn' look. You live and learn.

Right! You have to learn how the camera works before you can use it properly. I need to buy a digital camera myself. I hope it won´t be too difficult to figure it out...

They're not that difficult---even for an old-timer such as I. And they'll save you a lot of wasted film, in the long run. Look at the 20, or so washed out photos I took of the model. They all came out crappy and, if they were 35mm shots, it would be expensive to just throw them all away. As it is, I just had to erase them and then start over.

I´m glad to hear it´s not too difficult! Yes, you do save a lot of money because you only make prints of the best pics, the rest you erase. And some digital camera´s can also make video clips. That´s a nice extra feature...

Nef, a really nice job. My Alamo was started about 12 years ago (1/32) and remains in the same state. Maybe if I wait longer, real moss will grow on the walls. I would have tried 1/72 scale, but when my son Nick was in the Cub Scouts, we did a ginger bread cake in an Alamo scene, for the 'Blue & Gold' banquet. I went absolutely nuts painting that scale. I couldn't find French soldiers, quickly enough at the time to substitue for the soldatos, so I used 1812 British, and modified their shakos. We used cotten balls for the weapon explosions. BTW, we won first place, but the Alamo walls tasted really bad. Since the pix were not taken with a digital camera, it would be too hard to post them up here.

Neff my friend don`t erase those first set of dark pics, they look great and give it an eerie feel and dark visual of the Alamo at night! I`m artistic and have a good eye and they hit the spot, just think about it! ;D Sure you want detailed lit images to show but the 1st batch are faves! Your artistic impression here is nice Neff! As an example here, just imagine the Alamo at night on March 5, 1836 and imagine the onslaught that awaits the tired souls! Brighten up for detail or to look at/check out sure but let us not forget these! TED COLE....aka....Cole_blooded

I've finally started to work on the south wall today, cutting the doors, windows and the main gate archway. Tomorrow, I will begin plastering over the walls, putting in the doors and shutters and working on the main gate itself.
