Has anyone thought about digging way further outside the Alamo walls. I am talking you know 100 yards outside the walls, when the Mexicians were charging, and the texans where firing the cannons and firing all those rounds, there had to be alot of rounds left in the dark way outside the walls, that have not been found. It could be anywhere, a gas station, a hotel lot.......a area of woods.
i just think there has to be alot of places where there are some things untounched.
If a trech really could have been nuried all this time and just now be found in the middle of a growing city, than there has to be more.

Excavation of the area is an on going process. There's a thread about Alamo archaeology located somewhere on this forum...

Unfortunately, the area near the north wall where the brunt of the assault fell is now covered by buildings: the Emily Morgan Hotel and the Old Post Office building. As both of these structures have basements, whatever was there has already been dug long ago. The area along the NW corner where Cos made his entry is still covered by the old Woolworth building (currently the TOMB RIDER ADVENTURE RIDE.) But there's still a section of Houston Street at this location that could be dug. Also, the area south of the Low Barrack flowerbed could probably be subjected to further digs. Back in the early 1980's Jake Ivey and his team discovered the currently accepted layout of the lunette from their digs there.
