With the newer look/members to the AlamoFilm site and the upcoming redux of the AlamoSentry (which is promised to be the best Alamo site ever created) there doesn't seem to be a need to have Alamo Sports. I wish I could have thought of what wade thought of for the new Alamo Sentry before he did. Oh well, I don't mean to complain and I am genuinely happy with what I have here. Thanks to all of our supporters!

Speaking for myself, I would like to keep alamo central up as an alternate site to find off the wall things regarding the Alamo. Alamo Central remains the "Site With A Twist'. Some of the stuff posted here is exclusive to this site alone. And this means photos, articles and remembrances. No one is going to match your ALAMO ON THE BIG SCREEN section. Ain't happening. (And your San Antonio Travel section is a goldmine unto itself, Greg.)
Don't worry. We're in no danger here of Wade considering us 'renegade elitists.'

I like your "Alamo Site with a Twist" quote. That will be this site's new tagline.

So how does everyone feel about what's going on on the Alamo Film site? Seems to never be a dull moment any more with the arguing and the new "Elite Renegade" board. Like Nef said earlier, there is not one thing that can be discussed on Alamo Studies that hasnt already been discussed in depth here, Alamo Sentry, and Alamo Film. Why does everyone feel the need to be better then everyone else and then shove it in there face by not "inviting" anyone else to join. They both know where they can shove their invitiations if they ask me, which they won't.

I´m with you and Nef, Davy! I got a great welcome here, I can´t say the same for the other two sites. This is the place where I feel the most at home. As for the Alamofilm site "battle", I still have´nt figured out what it was all about. I gather some people clashed and some "scolars" went off to create their own site - Alamo Studies. I´ve read their "renegade" thread but I have´nt found the threads that created the "battle" yet, only a thread with a heated discussion with a guy who seemed very anti-Texas and very pro-Mexican. He saw everything from a Mexican view, The anglo´s stole Texas from Mexico - they were slave traders - Seguin was a traitor to both countries etc. etc. Boy, was he on a rant! I think four Alamo forums is too much because Alamo buffs is a relatively small group. I would´nt be surprised if some of the forums close down at some point or just gets inactive due to lack of posts. As Nef says, if we can continue having stuff posted exclusively for Alamo Central, then I think the future looks bright. It´s a matter of having your own unique profile, a "site with a twist" as Nef puts it...

It's just hard to think that after six good years at AlamoFilm, people are really starting to hate one another's guts.

Greg, You have a great thing going on here buddy! It's unique and as Ned said "the site with a twist". And noone wants to visit an Alamo site where everything seems repetitive. Keep doing what you are doing. The Alamo Sports Forum has great potential! Your efforts here will surely benefit you in the future. As for Alamo Sentry, I can only hope it does as good as the Alamo Film Site did back in it's "hay-day". All I can do is wait and see once the website is released and the activitity "kicks up". I agree, it's sad to see the Alamo Film site is falling apart after 6 years. I joined the messageboard sometime in the 7th grade and I just graduated highschool on May 21st! During that time...I made so many new friends and met so many wonderful people. I walk away with very fond memories and knowing, without a doubt, that it's not over. The Alamo Film Site will pass, but there will always be an online Alamo community for everyone. No matter its name. Anyway, I thought I'd let you know that on the "Links" page of the Sentry website, I left a link that will direct people here. ~Wade

Wade do you seem to think the Alamo Film site is over or something? "I don`t think so" there is several folks, Alamo54,Wolfpack, and such that went and started that other site and then PM`ed a select group of Alamo Film Site members! Wade you and Greg started your own Alamo sites, but you both advertised your sites on the Alamo Film site while still being an "Active Member" there! That`s not very cool at all what they did! They should have advertised their new site on the Alamo Film site and this "crap"might not have started! Bigfoot came along on "MrBassBones thread" and screamed and whined and hollered about his friends leaving and it really pisses me off that his thread was deleted because of Bigfoot! Where is the justice in that? That stuff on the other forum came about on the Concepcion thread when Neff posted a cool pic with a couple of gals on it while mentioning Davy`s name! Then Alamo54 said" there goes another thread" or something similar, then some one else said something about it! Then Davy came in taking up for Neff and then Wolfpack came in and tore into Davy and then the BIG "Rock`em Sock`em Robot Shout down commenced! And the rest is history! Wade, Thanks for the link add, we can surely use it. As for the Film site, by no means is it over but its kind of late to change things up and nobody wants to talk to the newbies.

Here is bigfoot complaining again in the Off Topic section! When is he going to get it, he`s at it again and who he is trying to impress is beyond me! And is is talking about my friends Denise McVea and Repo Man! Those two left long ago in disgust! He just posted this! Sheldon Levy Moderator/Co-Administration A note from Tom Lindley regarding this issue ... Tom called me today to express his view that the threads should remain open in the spirit of sharing information, and the hope that although differing points of view were expressed by members (sometimes with a little too much gusto) barring any name calling and direct insults to others members. He expressed the concern that in the interest of honest and open forum discussion, that the members NOT be reprimanded unless be by the direct result of defaming or deliberately insulting other members. He just wanted to let his point of view known on this. Davy Well, this thread, rules and comments from a year ago sure turned into a huge joke on us recently. I don't know that anyone has ever been banned for simply attacking someone on this site. I know that some have been purged for doing things outside this public forum. Why weren't Denise, Repoman and you know who ever banished if insulting and threatening members is truly a rule on this forum. I have repeatedly been called an assortment of names, the worst being that I'm a liar. I know this ridiculous behavior reflects more on the war monger than the person who defends opinions with facts and logic, but why does this adminstration let it continue? Certain people at times are given a blank check to run rough-shod over the forum with name-calling, while other members are reprimanded for minor offenses. I really think these so-called rules need to be codified better as they are being ignored by some. Deleting threads to hide the evidence of abuse will only encourage more verbal onslaughts. _________________

Greg, you're most welcome. Let me know if you need help with anything.
And Ted, there is no need to explain the entire story to me. I heard it from both sides and quite frankly I'm tired of it all. Mr.Bassbone deleted his own thread. I've been chatting with him alot lately. So, I'm very aware of what is going on. I'm sorry I didn't stop things in time.

Well, it looks like Wade is the only moderator left standing over on The Alamo Film Site. When he gets his new Alamo Sentry board running it will likely leave him little time, if any to moderate The Alamo Film Site. (And I don't envision any volunteers jumping to fill the void, either.) Sollution?

What about Mr. Bassbone? Isn't he still moderator? If they need new ones, you would do a good job.

Wade has enlisted Victoria as moderator on the Alamo Film Site, so it looks as though they would really like to keep it going. Do drop by there and leave a post to support both Wade's and Victorioa's efforts.

Happened to me too, Alex. Nothing personal, mind all.
Between Wade and Victoria, you will be back before you can say "A dog ran across the roof with a piece of raw liver in his mouth."
