A 9.0 earthquake struck Southeast Asia over the Christmas weekend, causing a tsunami that killed 22,000 people. On the tourist resort island of Phuket off of the Southern tip of Thailand, 660 sunbathers ---including the king of Thailand's grandson---were killed as they lay upon the beach soaking up some rays on what had seemed a perferct weather day.
AlamoGuy, do you have any updates on this? (Was it really a 9.6 quake?)

Not to sound morbid, but i wonder if there is any video of the actual wave(s) comming ashore. I don't think that there is any clear footage of ANY Tsunami's that i know of anyway. ;D

Did you hear the incredible tale of the brave Thai elephants in Phuket who waded back through the floodwaters to save some children who were being swept away? These intelligent, gentle giants deserve recognition during a time when the thoughts of many are filled with but reports of death, desolation and despair.
