I imagine that Wes Studi was a bit peeved when he was completely cut out of the film.

Isn't it something how some folks would've jumped through hoops to see a test screening, while others just didn't give a darn, one way or the other?

I imagine that Wes Studi was a bit peeved wne he was completely cut out of the film. Much as I hate to see anything cut out of a film (especially when I have not had the opportunity to see it) there were just too many Dennis Quaid/Sam Houston scenes in THE ALAMO (2004). The film was not about Sam Houston, so the focus of the film should not have appeared as though it were. Wes Studi's scenes were all Sam Houston scenes among the Cherokee and did not play a vital part in the telling of the Alamo story. Many must've felt that it slowed down the pace of the film and arguably, they could be right. As for myself, I wouldn't mind if they were to go and hack out every single Dennis Quaid scene if it would give the film another half hour of Alamo battle.

I think i agree with you Ned. Also, i didn't like dennis 's fake gruff voice among other things.

I imagine that Wes Studi was a bit peeved when he was completely cut out of the film. I really look forward to the day when the director's cut comes out and I get to see one of my favorite native american actors in THE ALAMO. of course, hell may freeze over first...

Back in 2003, Jeff Follender was a Mexican extra on the set of THE ALAMO (2004). During that time, he drew a comic "diary" of what it was actually like to be a Mexican extra. You can't get any closer to being back on that set again than this. Jeff's insight is wonderful, plus the comics are hilarious! (Note: While Nick Medrano had posted the comic on thealamofilm site forum back in 2004, apparently the link to it is no longer valid.)
