If you were commanding the Alamo, would you have done anything diffrent, that maybe would have had a better outcome?
I think if I was in charge, I might have made the battlefield smaller, if I had 21 peices or artillary, and 185 men, i would have used the church as my main point, and brought everything down to a smaller scale, 21 big guns and 185 rifles in a smaller distance would sure get more numbers.

This is a very interesting topic you bring up here. What would I have done differently? Well, I don't know how I would have commanded the fort. The fort was so large that it really needed a thousand men to defend it adequately. When you have 185-250 men to guard and an area that large, there only so much one can do.

Well, the sad thing is that Travis never really did intend to hold the Alamo with that small force. He was fully expecting to be reinforced and his main objective was to hold out until that relief arrived.
