Never seen or heard of it before. Thanks for sharing. It's been a long time sing I've seen it. Perhaps I need to look into it again. (Anyhow, it was the first time I ever saw Bill Chemerka without a beard.)

Hard to freeze frame action. it's often times but a blur.

Looks like a decent flick. My friend made me borrow REVOLUTION with Al Pacino but I've yet to watch it. Have you ever seen it?

You might call it a sort of a dark version of Mel Gibson's THE PATRIOT, with elements of Jimmy Stewart's SHENNANDOAH mixed in. Al Pacino plays the lead character, a man who does not want to get involved in the war until he loses some family members and one of his sons runs off to fight with the Continental army. While the requisite love story interwoven into the plot comes off like a Harlequin Romance novel, the battle scenes are gritty and Donald Sutherland plays a rather sinister British pikesman. One thing that I remember particularly liking about this film when it first came out is how all the Colonials actually speak in British accents---and of course, why would they not?

I'll have to watch it then.

Sweet Liberty and Revolution are two of my favorite Revolutionary War films, along with The Patriot. Wish more films depicting this era (like some of the Kenneth Roberts books) would be made.
I've seen a few TV movies depicting the era, but not enough reenactors or CGI work to make them look authentic enough.
I've got the George Washington miniseries on tape. Thought Barry Bostwick made a good G.W. Also saw TV version of Howard Fast's April Morning. It could've been better.
Also saw one where Jeff Daniels played Washington and another where Kelsey Grammer played G.W. and Aiden Quinn played Benedict Arnold.

Thanks, Rick. Apparently REVOLUTION is very hard to find on DVD, or else it's very expensive. I just ordered a copy on eBay for $9.99, including free shipping. The label is in Greek, so I assume it is being shipped from there.

Netflix has the new "Directors cut" of Revolution and it's pretty interesting.

Netflix has the new "Directors cut" of Revolution and it's pretty interesting. I got a copy of REVOLUTION just before Christmas. A no frills, sent in a paper sleeve version from Greece with liner notes, as you might expect, all in Greek. I wonder what "extras" the Director's Cut" contains?
