For those site browsers who have the official LONG BARRACK MUSEUM book, the above illustration should already be familiar to you. The Daughters of the Republic of Texas commissioned Mike Waters to complete the aerial view sketch of the compound to match up with the model of the Alamo currently on display in the Long Barrack. So, although Mike completed the sketch as specified, the look of the compound does not necessarily agree with Mike's own vision of it. Notwithstanding, it still remains a nice example of his artisitc style.

It appears that the connecting wall from the church to the long barracks have rooms.

Alamo artist/reenactor, Michael Waters, as Colonel Jim Bowie. Now that's a knife!

I spoke with Mike on the phone the other evening, and he told me he will be doing his "first person" impression of Bowie on the grounds of the Alamo on March 6. This will be a good chance for some of the newer Alamodians to meet Mike if they haven't already, as well as for old friends and acquaintances to see him again.

Michael......great pix. Just one point. The low wall that separated the campo from the plaza is commonly depicted with the opening somewhat in the center. I believe it might be closer to the hospital-barracks since it was most likely the opening to the temporary church that was erected there in the late 1700s, long gone by the time of the siege.

Mike Waters' architectural drawings of the Alamo still stand up pretty well to the test of time.
