We'll be reading this in school starting next week or the week after. Has any one read it? How is it? Will I want to kill myself while reading this?

Ah yes, Beowulf and the dragon, Grendel. If you like the LORD OF THE RINGS kinda story you should enjoy this.

I hate Lord of the Rings, but the first 126 lines of Beowulf arent bad. man, those warriors can drink! Theres also a movie coming out sometime next year about this, should be pretty good.

Has anyone seen the TV trailer for BEOWULF yet? QUESTION: Why does the guy playing Beowulf sound and act like Leonidas in 300? (Over the top, melodramatic.)

Has anyone seen the TV trailer for BEOWULF yet? QUESTION: Why does the guy playing Beowulf sound and act like Leonidas in 300? (Over the top, melodramatic.) My Englsih teacher wanted a field trip to be taken to the movie theatre for the english department to watch the movie. It turns out theres a sex scene or some nudity in it and the trip was cancelled. Why do movies have to be ruined that way? I just read the entire thing, and being that its a 1000 years old and translated by Catholic monks, I highly doubt that there was anything risque` in the poem.

It's to draw 'inquiring young minds' like yours into the theater. Sex sells. Violence sells. But sex and violence really sell.
I feel truly sorry for you and your class.

So, did anyone end up seeing BEOWULF? It's gone from the local screens now.
