If you dont already know why i named this site "Alamo Sports" then let me tell you. Over two years ago when this site was created I Had hoped for some serious discussion on both the Alamo and History and Sports, but since we have lacked the die-hard sports fans needed for a sports forum, the sports section had reduced itself to one sub section. I had tried to change the name from Alamosports to Alamocentral but the only way to do that is to create a new site and start all over again and that is something i am not prepared to do. so if you were wondering why this site has its particular name, now you know.

Don't worry Greg. My site, Alamo Sentry, has a serious name but it doesn't always have the must active members. So, the name doesn't always matter.

I don't know. They DID , after all, have sports in those days. Tomahawk throwing, rifle shooting, knife fighting, spitting, running from lancers, etc...

if there's enough interest in that, maybe you should start a thread.

I don't know if you watch LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE reruns, but there is one episode where Mr. Edwards, the mountain man, teaches 8 year old Laura Ingalls to spit. The way he executes it is truly an art.

i have seen a few episodes but not that one. i didnt know that there was a "correct" way to spit let alone it be an art.
