I´ll try and be there, although it´ll be 3 or 4 am over here...
WOW, I just noticed that Alamo Central has promoted me to Colonel! Hmm... Colonel Seguin...It has a nice ring to it. And the real Seguin was a Colonel or a Lt.-Colonel. Now I´m in good company...Colonel Travis, Colonel Bowie, Colonel Crockett...and now Colonel Seguin. The four Colonel´s, just like the four corners of the world or the four seasons etc. etc. ... ;D

Ok, I will. Thanks, Davy! Btw, which Crockett biography is the best? Is it Hero Of The Common Man? There are a lot of good Crockett biography's out there but if you have a copy of Hero of the Comman Man, i suggest reading that one first.

Anyone had any problems with Hero of the Common man? Ordered it from Amazon over here in the UK, when it arrived the outer edges of the pages looked like they had been cut with a chain saw so it was sent back to Amazon for a replacement, when the new one arrived it had the same fault, so it was also sent back. Never did get to read it. Is it a good Crockett biography? If so I will try to buy it some place else.

Its a very good biography! There's also Crockett's memoirs/autobiography that I recommend.

Hi Davy, Sorry for the sudden exit from the chat room last night, things were getting a little confused this end, as I said it was 3:00am over here I had been in bed for a while and got up to join the chat room, Iwas not really with it. If you have another in the near future I will try to get organised, "that said, beds a might cosy, so no promises." Thank's for trying to help.

Glad you could make it but sorry you had to leave. I would have scheduled it earlier for our friends in Europe, but then the majority of members here in the states wouldnt have been able to attend. Look for another chat to be scheduled within the next two weeks.

Maybe we could start, say, 2 hours earlier, then it´s only 1am in Europe instead of 3am? That would be 7pm est...
Thanks to everybody for a nice chat...

Well Greg, looks like you did it again. I had a blast. I enjoyed chatting about the Alamo and a whole bunch of other topics. I recommend it for everyone. The 13th is the day before my anniversary and I might be away. But if I can, I will put my two cents in again. Thanks Greg. Mike

Hi Wade, Thank's for the feedback regarding Hero. After the second book was returned to Amazon they sent an e-mail saying that they had received a faulty batch and could not say when they would get any more in. So it seems like the staff at Amazon uk. thought it was a fault too. Do you have a copy of "Readings On The Alamo" by John F Rios, I have one that Rich Curila talked me into bying at the Alamo Village a few year ago, they seem to be hard to find in the UK. Thanks again Wade.
